Thursday Lecture Series, Spring 2026

An online lecture & artist talk series featuring Catalysti members - free and open to all. The series invites critical reflection on gaps in mainstream art education asking: Which histories are missing from the curricula? The Lecture Series offers audiences direct engagement with artists whose work challenges dominant narratives in contemporary art.
Each lecturer brings a question that is central for their art in contemporary times?

The lectures are held on Thursdays 10-11.30am online on the Zoom platform.

GUIDELINES FOR WORKING TOGETHER
Art School Maa is a community for art and education that creates spaces for critical thinking and artistic practices. We seek new ways of expression and challenge our ways of working together. In order to share space in a way that supports , we will have to navigate different voices, practices and experiences. Maa’s guidelines are a starting point for doing this. Read the guidelines here.

Taidekoulu Maa torstailuentosarja, kevät 2026
Torstailuennot järjestetään yhteistyössä Catalysti ry:n kanssa. Torstailuennot toteutetaan syksyllä 2025 Catalysti ry:n jäsenten luento- ja taiteilijakeskustelusarjana, joka on avoin kaikille kiinnostuneille. Sarja kutsuu kriittisesti pohtimaan, mitä valtavirran taidekoulutuksessa jää puuttumaan ja kysyy: Mitä historioita opetussuunnitelmista puuttuu? Luentosarja tarjoaa yleisölle suoraa vuorovaikutusta taiteilijoiden kanssa, joiden taiteelliset työt haastavat nykytaiteen vallitsevia narratiiveja. AJAT, PÄIVÄMÄÄRÄT ja SITOUTUMINEN
Luennot pidetään torstaisin klo 10-11.30 Zoom-alustalla.
Kevätlukukaudella pidetään yhteensä 11 luentoa. Voit osallistua joko yksittäiseen luentoon tai koko sarjaan. Taidekoulu Maa noudattaa yhteisen työsklentelyn ohjeita kaikissa tapahtumissaan. Edellytämme, että kaikki osallistujat lukevat yhteisen työskentelyn ohjeemme (ks. alla) ennen tapahtumaan osallistumista.

Etsimme uusia ilmaisutapoja ja haastamme vakiintuneita tapoja toimia yhdessä. Jotta voimme jakaa tilaa tavalla, joka tukee tällaista sekä jaettua että henkilökohtaista työtä, meidän on harjoiteltava erilaisten äänien, käytäntöjen ja kokemusten välistä dialogia.
